10 Year Anniversary – How It started

10 Year Anniversary – How It started

On July 1st 2023, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Optimum Crush. It is incredible to see how this company started in a spare bedroom and now has locations in multiple countries and conducts business on 6 continents.

One question that has come up several times is “Where does the name, Optimum Crush, come from?” We asked our owner, Jerrod Dulmes, this question and this is what he had to say.

“When I decided that I was going to start a business that was connected to my specialty which was Cone Crusher Engineering, I started to write down company name ideas on a small scratch pad. I wanted the name to connect to crushing, to be modern, to be available for website naming, etc. I wrote down, Crusher Engineering, Crusher Support and Service (CSS), Crush Engineering and a few others. I then wrote Alternative Crush and thought that was pretty clever. Being a Fastpitch Softball Player, I particularly liked using the word Crush vs Crusher because it worked well for future team names as well.

I shared the name ideas with a friend who had been in the Cone Crusher industry for decades and his response was ‘Why do you just want to be an alternative, why don’t you want to be the best?’ I pondered his feedback for a few days and fully agreed with him. Why be second best…why not be THE best? So I thought of words that meant the top or best. I wrote down Optimum Crush and knew it was the right choice. The name fits us well as we strive to be the best in the Crushers we support.

We see many companies try to do it all and become mediocre so we have optioned to stay focused in an acute area and be the Optimum option in that area. The name has also gone will with our Community Optimization program for the dozens of Softball, Baseball, Hockey and other sports programs that we sponsor around the world.”

A Guide to Selecting Cone Crusher Liners

A Guide to Selecting Cone Crusher Liners

Cone crushers take on the strenuous task of crushing large rocks into a smaller size. Essentially, they operate like compression crushers. The liners of the cone crusher are crucial for protecting the mantle and the concaves inside the compression chamber from wear and tear. These are easily replaceable parts and have to be switched out often to maintain optimal performance.

The Feed

The biggest factor to consider when getting a new cone crusher liner is the feed. For your crushing chambers performance, a good quality feed is essential. Generally, a well-graded feed has the following features:

For the closed-side feed opening, there should be a passing of around 90% to 100%. For the open side, ideally, it should be around 80% but many people pick the smaller among the two choices. Only 40% to 605 for passing the mid, with 0 to 10% for the closed-side setting.

Considerations

Many people make the mistake of focusing on only the feed size, but in reality, the feed gradation is just as important. Otherwise, you won’t be making the most out of the entire chamber. Utilizing the whole chamber helps get a proper reduction. The size of the feed and how reduced the material is from primary crushing determines feed size, from where you can figure out the cavitys opening.

If the opening is bigger than the feed size, the liners won’t be used well enough for proper reduction of the material. If the feed is smaller though, it will cause the material to sink to the bottom of the cavity, leading to more wear and tear to the bottom of the liner.

When To Change Liners

Once you start noticing some drop in productivity, anywhere from 10% to 15% of the crushing throughput, its a clear indication that your liners are worn out. Upon inspection, youll notice that its linear thickness may have gone down from compressing all those rocks in between.

Are your cone crusher liners in need of repairs or replacement? Call in the rock crusher solutions to ensure your projects dont go through any halts. If you require rock crusher parts, we have got you covered at Optimum Crush.. From crusher & screen replacement parts such as cone crusher bowl liner, mantle, you can find them all.

School District of New Berlin Enters 5-Year Naming Rights Sponsorship Agreement with New Berlin-Based Manufacturer Optimum Crush

New Berlin West Middle/High School will have the most aptly named softball field in southeastern Wisconsin after the School District of New Berlin and New Berlin-based Optimum Crush agreed on a 5-year, $25,000 naming rights sponsorship agreement.

Optimum Crush will have name recognition on newly erected signage on what is tentatively being called Optimum Crush Field – Home of the Vikings.

“We are proud and fortunate to have another local company, Optimum Crush, step up to the plate to support our school district,” Superintendent Joe Garza said. “The financial impact is significant, but just as important, we look forward to working with Optimum Crush to explore other ways we can work together to benefit our students and schools.”

Optimum Crush, located at 16211 W. Lincoln Ave., New Berlin, is a leading manufacturer of interchangeable and custom-designed parts used in the mining and quarry industries. Their team of engineers also provides onsite troubleshooting and round-the-clock technical support for mine operators across North and South America.

“Our company is committed to supporting global communities with a goal of developing long-term relationships that are mutually beneficial,” said Optimum Crush president Jerrod Dulmes. “As a softball advocate, and with our roots right here in New Berlin, this was a natural fit. We are proud to have our company name on the school’s softball field, where the Vikings have enjoyed lots of recent success.”

The West softball team won the WIAA Division 2 state title in 2016 and is a three-time state qualifier, most recently in 2019.

This is the third naming rights sponsorship signed by the SDNB this school year. The district previously agreed to a 10-year deal with Drexel Building Supply for the naming rights to West’s fieldhouse, now known as Drexel Fieldhouse, and a 5-year deal with Aspen Orthopedic Specialists and Orthopaedic Hospital of Wisconsin for naming rights to West’s outdoor baseball and soccer complex.

All You Need To Know About Cone Crushers

All You Need To Know About Cone Crushers

Cone crushers are one of the most useful and versatile pieces of crushing equipment available for quarries and mining operations. These machines often play an integral role in the delivery of aggregate products in the marketplace. Cone crushers are specialized pieces of equipment, with many manufacturers offering several high-quality options.

Understanding crushing equipment

These popular machines are well-used pieces of equipment in the aggregate and mining industries. The pieces of this equipment are massive and can seem intimidating but arent too difficult to understand.

Crushing equipment is used to refine a raw material into something thats of a more manageable size. Once a company has collected or mined its raw materials, they have to be broken down into smaller forms that share a closer resemblance to the final product. Theyre usually the first step in the industrys refining process.

Cone crushers are a popular type of rock crusher, with only a few moving parts making up a relatively simple machine. Their easy maintenance and sturdiness make them a popular choice for coal mining, aggregate, concrete, and frac industries.

How does it work?

The material that needs to be crushed is known as the feed, which drops into a crushing chamber at the top of the cone crusher through a large, circular opening. The mantle inside the crusher gyrates eccentrically inside the machine, swinging lightly as it rotates, which provides continuous alterations for the gap between the concave and mantle.

The fixed ring outside of the mantle is known as a concave, with materials getting crushed against it with each swing of the mantle. Stones are then further broken down by getting crushed against each other in a phenomenon known as interparticle crushing.

Benefits of using cone crushers

Cone crushers provide a slew of benefits to any industry that theyre being used in. Theyre often put to use due to their:

  • High crushing ratio
  • Production efficiency
  • Low levels of required maintenance
  • Reliability
  • Cost efficiency

While the initial cost of the machine may be high, it has a rather long lifespan that allows costs to be absorbed over time. They also require fewer parts to keep the machine running, meaning that there are fewer costs for replacements over time.

3 Signs Your Rock Crusher Needs to Be Replaced

3 Signs Your Rock Crusher Needs to Be Replaced

Statistics show the rock-crushing market was worth approximately $1.5 billion in 2020, and experts believe the market will rise to $2.05 billion by 2026. These figures indicate a compound annual growth rate of 5.10 percent, which highlights promise for the industry.

Organizations that operate crushing equipment emphasize optimal efficiency. Theyre concerned with reducing costs, and rock crushers are one of the primary cost contributors to their business. However, like all other equipment, rock crushers also have a lifespan. Typically, as your rock crush approaches the end of its lifespan, it will start to show signs that indicate you need to replace it. Lets explore them in detail.

Signs Your Rock Crusher Needs to Be Replaced

Here are some signs that you need to replace your rock crusher:

Production Level

Although theres no foolproof method of determining when your rock crusher needs replacement, a decrease in production level is a good indicator that its time to change your rock crusher. If you notice a reduction of more than 10 percent in your rock crushers production levels, youll likely want to start browsing for replacements.

Age

Rock crushers, like all other equipment, have a lifespan. Depending on your rock crusher make and model, the lifespan can vary. However, research shows that the average lifespan of a rock crusher extends to about 25 years. If your rock crusher is pushing past the 25-year mark, you should consider getting a replacement.

Manganese Parts

All rock crushers have manganese parts that need replacement. Depending on the rock you are processing, the average replacement time can vary. Some manganese parts need replacement after six weeks, while others require replacement after six years.

However, if you notice that your manganese parts need replacements more frequently than before, its a sign that your rock crusher is showing its age. Hence, youll likely want to consider replacing it.
