On July 1^st 2023, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of Optimum Crush. It is incredible to see how this company started in a spare bedroom and now has locations in multiple countries and conducts business on 6 continents.

One question that has come up several times is “Where does the name, Optimum Crush, come from?” We asked our owner, Jerrod Dulmes, this question and this is what he had to say.

“When I decided that I was going to start a business that was connected to my specialty which was Cone Crusher Engineering, I started to write down company name ideas on a small scratch pad. I wanted the name to connect to crushing, to be modern, to be available for website naming, etc. I wrote down, Crusher Engineering, Crusher Support and Service (CSS), Crush Engineering and a few others. I then wrote Alternative Crush and thought that was pretty clever. Being a Fastpitch Softball Player, I particularly liked using the word Crush vs Crusher because it worked well for future team names as well.

I shared the name ideas with a friend who had been in the Cone Crusher industry for decades and his response was ‘Why do you just want to be an alternative, why don’t you want to be the best?’ I pondered his feedback for a few days and fully agreed with him. Why be second best…why not be THE best? So I thought of words that meant the top or best. I wrote down Optimum Crush and knew it was the right choice. The name fits us well as we strive to be the best in the Crushers we support.

We see many companies try to do it all and become mediocre so we have optioned to stay focused in an acute area and be the Optimum option in that area. The name has also gone will with our Community Optimization program for the dozens of Softball, Baseball, Hockey and other sports programs that we sponsor around the world.”
